We all carry within us the potential to do more than simply get through life.
We have the power to leave a mark, to elevate others, to multiply good in the world. We can leave a pretty decent legacy if we try. The legacy doesn’t have to be loud. Just decent. Just human. Just enough.
Good multiplies in subtle ways. Encouragement travels further then we realise. Calm spreads. Hope echoes. A single act of generosity often outlives its moment, passed on in ways we never witness. We don’t need to change the world outright to improve it. We just need to add to the side of the scale that leans toward decency.
We can all push the boundaries, make a difference, and become what the military calls a “force multiplier” – someone whose presence, attitude, and actions increase the strength, confidence, and effectiveness of everyone around them.
Force multipliers don’t need titles. They don’t wait for permission. They show up, stand tall, and make others better just by being fully present and purposeful.
In every school, every workplace, every family, and every community, there are people waiting for a spark.
Sometimes they don’t know how to believe in themselves yet. Sometimes they’ve been worn down, overlooked, or underestimated. And sometimes all it takes is your encouragement, your belief, your voice and your example to remind them they have value and power.
That’s the role of a force multiplier. It’s being a positive role model. They don’t chase applause. They create impact. Quietly. Consistently. Intentionally.
When you uplift others, you make your mark and multiply strength.
A mark is left when we elevate other instead of competing with them. When we notice who is struggling nd choose kindness over convenience. When we share what we have – time, attention, patience – rather than guarding it as if it were scarce.
Effort counts. Intention counts. Showing up counts.
Empowerment isn’t a transaction; it’s a ripple effect. A single word of belief can echo through someone’s entire life. A small act of encouragement can reignite someone’s purpose. A quiet nudge can shift a person’s trajectory forever.
I hope to think that my daily messages on social media can contribute in some small way.
To make a difference doesn’t always mean launching a revolution. Sometimes it’s as simple as sharing a message of encouragement, positivity, optimism or hope. It’s about sharing your platform.
To upgrade others means giving them self-belief and helping them unlock their thinking.
You don’t have to be a coach, teacher, or leader to do that, anyone can do it.
But you do have to commit to being a force multiplier most days. You don’t have to devote the whole day to it either but just a small investment of your own time can vastly increase the mental wealth and wellbeing of others. You never know how badly someone might need to hear your words.
Elevating others doesn’t require authority or perfection. It only requires awareness. A willingness to see people clearly and treat them well, even when we are tired, uncertain or dealing with our own battles. Some of the most meaningful legacies are forged not in strength, but in perseverance.
The truth is: we rise higher when we lift others.
You don’t need to change the whole world. You can start by changing the room you’re in – that room can be your social media timeline. In a toxic world, be the person who raises the tone, who shifts the energy and who brings out the best in people. A few words here and there helps create space for others to shine.
Everywhere can feel divided, noisy, and self-serving if you look at the news. In lots of places it is. But that doesn’t mean we have to feel threatened by it and succumb to negative messages. Instead, be the one who multiplies connection, courage, and kindness. The impact is exponential.
So ask yourself:
- Who can I empower today?
- Who needs encouragement?
- How can I uplift someone’s mindset, mood, or moment?
- Where can I push a boundary and open a door?
Force multipliers aren’t just found on battlefields. They’re found in classrooms, hospital wards, sports teams, in coffee shops, across dinner tables and of course in social media.
It’s within social media force multipliers can make the most impact.
So go ahead, be the one who multiplies. Be the one who dares. Be the one who upgrades the human experience for others. One word, one action, one day at a time.
Because when you uplift others, you don’t just help them rise, you give yourself a leg up too.
We can all be a force to be reckoned with, so go forth and multiply those good vibes and do some heavy lifting.
In the end, a legacy doesn’t need to be extraordinary to be worthy. It just needs us to try.
If we try to leave things and people a little better than we found them, if we multiply optimism, hope, positivity and good then we will have done enough.
