You are your biggest critic.
You are also your biggest asset.
The most valuable thing in your life is your life and this needs looking after. Good self-care is physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual.
You need protecting, preserving, nurturing, developing and upgrading. To do that, you need to put yourself first and put yourself at the front of the queue.
Yet, many of us are experts at doing the opposite and pressing the self-destruct button. We forget just how valuable and fragile we really are. We make ourselves a liability. You are your biggest security risk.
Your biggest vulnerability is you and yet you are also your biggest asset.
There is an awful lot that you cannot do anything about or control in your life but you still have the power to change your life. You are an individual and you are distinct from other individuals. You are in control of more than you think and you, no one else, own your own destiny.
You have value and you can add to it and multiply it. Why would you want to subtract from it? You can appreciate or depreciate.
Unconditional self-worth, self-respect and self-value are essential for wellbeing and mental health. This is real asset management. By recognising ourselves as important we feed our self-esteem but it has to come from self-care.
Some people will say that they don’t care about themselves. That’s when others can step in and remind them just how valuable they are, that they deserve to be here, to be loved and cared for and they have a right to be alive.
But we all have inherent value, we all have individual strengths and gifts. We are all assets. You are an asset to yourself.
When you recognise your own value, you feel inspired and motivated, and become a passionate advocate of you. To be an asset, you need to be indispensable and you are, to yourself!
We all need to sign-up for Operation Asset and recognise that we are an asset for life and this requires a daily investment of positive inputs. Put your time and effort into you….and others, of course, but not at the expense of yourself.

Your house isn’t your greatest asset or your car or that Ming vase you’ve got in your attic. It’s you, it’s always been you and it always will be you.
