Job for today: be a hope catcher and a hope hatcher. Hatch ‘n’ catch or catch ‘n’ hatch – both work well!

Hope is something we can definitely catch. It’s out there. Look there’s a bit now! You have to be quick, it can soon get away! Don’t worry though, there’s plenty more where that came from.

Hope is also something we can definitely hatch. It’s inside us. Feel that kick? We are all pregnant with hope. We can all conceive hope.

On occasions, it might feel like hope isn’t anywhere at all.

But hope hasn’t abandoned us – we’ve more than likely abandoned hope.

Don’t listen to those who say there is no hope. There is. The world is full of it and we are too. The ‘no hopers’ and hope suckers like to tell you there isn’t any but secretly they hope there is.

Hope smashers and hope trashers are not beyond hope, they unwittingly help to construct it. Now that’s what you call a spectacular own-goal!

We might have to snatch at hope and that’s okay too. If it’s the sort of thing that makes a rare public appearance then we have to be ready to grab it with both hands.

Whether you catch, hatch or snatch hope, what do you do with it?

Well, you could keep it all to yourself and that might very well be tempting if you’ve been feeling hopeless and desperate. Holding onto hope and hanging onto hope is very important.

But, if you are feeling up to it then one of the best things you can do with your hope is to spread it and share it around. This always works wonders and people really appreciate it. Hope is working together as a community and caring for each other.

Don’t worry though, you don’t lose hope by giving it away. It multiples and you get it back in droves. Hope feeds itself and fuels your positive energy and what comes out of your tailpipe is enthusiasm.

Hope is nectar for your well-being and it’s nectar for everyone else too.

The great thing about hope is that it is contagious and I mean contagious in a good way. It’s the sort of thing we want to go viral, no vaccines required thank you.

Hope gives you a high and having high hopes lifts us from the ropes when we are taking a pounding. That’s another great thing about hope, it recruits you, it nurtures you and elevates you to the position of a high-hoper.

Being a high-hoper means you clothe yourself in a mentality with a silver lining that is stitched with optimism. This is tailored thinking.

High-hopers catch, hatch and snatch hope but they are also very skilled at hunting for hope too.

They seek it out. They go looking for it and they always find it. They might have to dig for it but they’ll get to it. The hope they find might be just a little shred or it could be a big chunk. Either way, they’ll make the most of it.

Why do we hope?

Hope is a curative, positive and critical agent of change. It feeds healing and growth and it can keep us alive if we keep it alive. Even talking about hope brings about a more positive outlook. Hope alters the chemistry of the day and turns dark into light.

We can all cultivate and foster hope. We can all speak the language of hope too and help others to access it.

We can promote it, talk about it, think it, act it, feel it, relate it and live it.

If you find some hope today, take it home and enjoy it. But remember to take it back out into the world and share it with others.

Hope is the active ingredient in any day, it’s the essence of human living. This is why we never give up on it or ourselves.
