Do you have a Responsibility Assignment Matrix?
Some school managers adopt a type of RAM called a RACI framework in order to help them with what needs to happen and the people who are involved.
This identifies and clarifies the roles and what relationship each person has for each task.
RACI is an acronym that stands for the following:
Responsible
People or stakeholders actually responsible for doing the task – they do the work. Several people can be jointly responsible.
Accountable
Who is accountable for the task being completed and achieving its goals? This is the person or stakeholder who approves and signs off the work. They are the owner of the work and the buck stops with them.
Consulted
Who will be asked? Whose opinion will you get? These are active participants.
Informed
Who is kept in the loop, in the picture and updated? These people don’t get a say in the task or get to directly contribute.
A RACI matrix has a number of advantages and is a very useful and very simple communication tool for managing different projects.
