Many of the factors that contribute to young people becoming homeless also make it difficult for them to succeed in education. This is particularly the case where pupils are moving between schools frequently. Meanwhile, homelessness itself forces many young people out of education, even where they are keen to persist
- According to Dr Julian Murphy, headteacher at Loughborough Amherst School, school reports are a waste of time as teachers are no longer honest for fear of upsetting pushy parents.
- Some say that headteachers should spend more time in the classroom. Well, some head teachers in north Wales have just half a day a week to run their schools after spending most of their time in class.
